Our Team

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors are experts in their respective backgrounds. Just as importantly, they all possess a passion to serve their communities. Together, they provide Jacob’s House with direction and leadership to help ensure we meet our goal of supporting families in their time of need.

Shawn & Stephanie Nelson

CEO/Co-founders

In 2006, our lives would again be devastated when our son, Jacob, was in a tragic automobile accident. We again stormed out of the house. However, this time we had no choice but to remove the life support from his 24 year old body. In an attempt to make something positive out of something so devastating, community leaders developed a concept of bringing a hospitality house, similar to a Ronald McDonald House, to the Temecula/Murrieta Valley. It was decided to build a hospitality house that would meet the needs of all ages. To our surprise, we were told the organizers unanimously agreed to name the new hospitality house – Jacob’s House!

We know there will be more families that will get that dreaded call and we want to be able to reach out to them during their most challenging times. We believe the world is changed one life at a time and even though we know we can’t change the destiny, we believe we can positively impact the journey.

As the proud sister of Jacob Andrew Nelson, I’ve dedicated the rest of my life to honor my brother, and those lives that have gone too early, through Jacob’s House, which will support those families who will be faced with the trials of having a loved one in critical care in our local hospital. When it comes to having a purpose motivate your life to be the best you can be to accomplish and achieve a goal to help others, I can’t imagine a stronger purpose in my life than Jacob’s House. As an active board member, I commit to making every decision and every vote for the sole purpose to ensure the best for Jacob’s House and the best intention for future families who will reside in Jacob’s House as their home away from home. I truly feel honored to be apart of Jacob’s House with selfless leaders and dedicated volunteers who take time away from their busy lives to commit a true desire and endless effort to impact the lives of others.
