Playground…Coming Soon!!!!

Almost one year ago, the Board of Directors made the tough decision to demolish a beautiful swimming pool and spa that came with the purchase of our property.  It wasn’t too hard to realize, when families are suffering from a hospitalized loved one in traumatic medical crisis, no one is thinking about laying around by a pool, no matter how beautiful it is.  The reduction in maintenance and utilities will allow us to spend more donor dollars on the operations and support for the house and families.

One of our very own local playground installation contractors, Steve Stann, the owner of Perpetual Parks and Playgrounds, Inc. approached us about installing a playground.   We want to THANK the following donors for their vision to help the children of our guests, to enjoy a time of respite and fun, while they too are victims of hard times when a family member is in critical condition medically.  The emotional healing and the memories of their stay at Jacob’s House will be softened by the times they will be able to enjoy our Jacob’s House Playground very soon!

THANK YOU Donors!  WE LOVE YOU!

Finally, we cannot forget about the amazing contractors, who have wholeheartedly given of themselves to see every detail to completion!

2015 Emerald Service Charitable Organization of the Year -TVCC

Jacob’s House was awarded the 2015 Emerald Service Charitable Organization of the Year Award by the Temecula Chamber of Commerce at the 2016 Awards Gala!  Our gratitude is beyond words and we cherish the honor of being recognized by an amazing community of partners, donors, friends, family, and faithful volunteers.  Without your support and faith in our Mission to help families in their time of traumatic medical crisis, we would not be where we are today.  It is with humble and grateful appreciation that we are honored to serve the citizens of Temecula and the surrounding communities, as well as serving the greater SW Riverside County area hospitals.  Through the trust and commitment of Southwest Healthcare Systems and medical staff from Temecula Valley Hospital, Inland Valley Hospital, Rancho Springs Medical Center, and Rady Children’s Murrieta, we have received our family guest referrals, making our jobs a joy to serve others in the darkest times in life.  We can proudly say we’ve served 205 guests for 1,500 individual guest night stays from 27 states and 5 international countries.  Finally, we cannot fail to mention the wonderful, giving, caring, and hardworking Service Clubs, Church Organizations, Scout Troops, Philanthropic Organizations, Professional Associations, and Business Clubs, School Clubs, and beautiful individual volunteers….who spend their time, energy, and effort to clean, sweep, wipe, paint, build, and plant, to keep Jacob’s House sparkling and pristine every day!  They donate their dollars and open their hearts to strangers from near and afar…and they keep on giving.   Temecula truly has HEART!  Thank you from the bottom of ours to yours!

Your Employee Giving Campaigns

How about donating on a monthly basis to Jacob’s House?

Here’s how……

Does your employer offer an annual Employee Benefits Fair, where you can opt to donate on a monthly basis to your favorite 501(3) c, non-profit charity? Such benefits are very fulfilling and you don’t even feel the pinch from your paycheck. Yet, at the end of the year, every penny is income tax deductible and can make a big difference in your annual IRS tax filing.

Choosing to give a donation to Jacob’s House monthly, via an Employee Giving Campaign is a wonderful way to give-back to your community and there is no fuss with remembering to write out checks, make phone calls, or forget to make the donation. Let your employer know, you’d like to become a monthly Key Partner of Jacob’s House, Inc. and we will also send you confirmation of your charitable giving receipt via email every month. Also, tell your employer to contact Jacob’s House for our EIN (Employer Identification Number) in order to process your donation. Thank you for partnering with us to help our families, who are experiencing traumatic medical crisis during the hospitalization of a loved one.

The Bunsen Family

We wanted to share a recent note from one of our families. We always receive permission to share these stories. The Bunsens were at Jacob’s House for 26 days.

“Dear Linda,
Helmut and I can’t thank you enough, not only you but also the staff and all the wonderful caring volunteers of the Jacobs House. Being from Chicago, it was of great comfort to us to come to the JH each evening after spending the day with our daughter and her battle with stage 4 cancer. We enjoyed all the amenities that the JH offered—-the cup of coffee in the morning, the large TV screen to relax by and the beautiful room to lay our heads down at nighttime. it was truly a Home away from Home. We are blessed and grateful for having all of this available to us –thank you, thank you. thank you, especially in the time of our need and when our spirits were low you were there.
God’s blessings to you as you continue the wonderful work of the JH.
We love you all,
Helmut and Marianne Bunsen”

Please share with your family and friends!
