"In order to develop the best healthcare delivery system possible, we need to have hospitality houses for our hospitals and long-term care facilities. It is easy to see the Lord's hand on this ministry. I am humbled to be part of the leadership team."
Linda comes from 30+ years of Public Health & Safety Civil Service, with a background in Public Social Services, Code Enforcement, Building and Safety, Community Emergency Response Instructor, Adjunct Faculty for Santa Ana Community College District, Police Chaplaincy, has served on the Boards of several statewide code enforcement organizations, and is currently serving on the Riverside Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) board.
"Four years after my son Adam's death, my first grandchild was fighting for her life with heart decease. Julia died at 3.5 months of age. Between Adam and Julia, I spent many days, weeks, and months living at various hospital hospitality houses. These experiences taught me about the need, the gift, and the value of such facilities for my family and my daughter's family."
Katherine has served the community of Temecula with her 19 years as a Senior Retail Banking Executive. She is proficient at measuring financial performance and possesses superior strengths in financial planning and cash management, evaluation of deposit products, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. She is also the Owner and Senior Vice President of Bailey's and Associates where she has managed the operations since 2005.
"When something touches me, I stand behind it. This house is something I am drawn to both as a mother and as a friend. I want to use my skills (in financing) as a way to give back to the community."
Ron is a California Architect and has extensive experience in the architectural profession from Principal/Owner of an architectural office to a Consultant in Construction Contract Administration and Construction Management with emphasis on healthcare projects. He was the Construction Contract Administrator on an 85-million-dollar new hospital project for the University of California and Construction Manager/Project Manager on a 200-million-dollar hospital project for the County of Riverside.
"Through the Lord'ts guidance, I believe I was lead to be involved in the Jacob'ts House project, by applying God'ts given skills as an Architect and Construction Manager. My goal as a Board Member and Chair of the Design & Development Committee is to provide leadership and facilitation in the project'ts design development, construction documents and construction implementation."
In 1997, our daughter Jennifer was tragically injured. We ran out of the house with the clothes on our backs. She was in critical condition. Unfortunately, intensive care unit (ICU) rules mandated that we weren't allowed to sleep by her overnight, which is when we were introduced to the Ronald McDonald House. One of the many blessings was having the phone lines connected to the ICU ward at the hospital. We were able to immediately be by her side when we received a call at 3:00a.m.
In 2006, our lives would again be devastated when our son, Jacob, was in a tragic automobile accident. We again stormed out of the house. However, this time we had no choice but to remove the life support from his 24 year old body.
In an attempt to make something positive out of something so devastating, community leaders developed a concept of bringing a hospitality house, similar to a Ronald McDonald House, to the Temecula/Murrieta Valley. It was decided to build a hospitality house that would meet the needs of all ages. To our surprise, we were told the organizers unanimously agreed to name the new hospitality house - Jacob's House!
We know there will be more families that will get that dreaded call and we want to be able to reach out to them during their most challenging times. We believe the world is changed one life at a time and even though we know we can't change the destiny, we believe we can positively impact the journey.
Jim and Malinda Margiotta own and operate the two largest child care centers in Riverside County. Their 30 years of experience of caring for children and their families has provided them with invaluable insight as to the needs of families during a crisis. Jim and Malinda have been vital members of the Temecula Valley and surrounding communities and are passionate about the need to improve the services their beloved community provides. They see a great vision with Jacob¹s House and are honored to be a part of the organization.
In 2007 Jim's 10 year old daughter was tragically killed in a boating accident and Malinda suffered life altering injuries as well. Several families members had to scramble to find lodging and care for themselves while Malinda was in intensive care. They hope through their involvement these types of services will be more readily available to families in need.
